Executive Board Members
President, Beatriz A. ("Betty") Llorente received her B.B.A. in International Finance and Marketing in 1998 from the University of Miami and her J.D. degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2001. She started her career at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office in 2001 as a Certified Legal Intern and then became an Assistant Public Defender. She currently has her own firm, the Law Offices of Beatriz A. Llorente, P.A. She is a member of a number of organizations where she has held numerous positions. Currently she is serving a term as a Florida Bar Grievance Committee Member. She is a member of the following organizations: South Miami Kendall Bar Association, Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Cuban American Bar Association, Junior League of Miami, Zeta Tau Alpha Alumnae Association, Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade, University of Miami Alumni Association, and the Dade County Bar Association. She serves as a mentor in the University of Miami School of Business Mentor Program. Betty also spends time with her dogs visiting nursing homes and reading to children through Dog Therapy, Inc. She has served for a number of years in the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Miami Chapter, as a general board member, Executive Board member and Chapter Representative for the Statewide FACDL.
Vice President, Jude M. Faccidomo graduated from Bard College in New York in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and earned his Juris Doctor in 2004 from St. Thomas University School of Law. After graduating from law school, Jude joined the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office where he amassed extensive experience trying cases stemming from DUI to Attempted Murder. In 2008, Jude joined the Law Offices of Jeffrey S. Weiner, P.A., where he is now a senior associate. Jude currently practices criminal defense in both state and federal court. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Co-Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of FACDL-Miami, and is one of the Miami representatives to the statewide chapter of the board of directors of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Jude has lectured on topics pertaining to criminal law at Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office, Miami-Dade Metropolitan Police Institute, and St. Thomas University.
Treasurer, Roberto “Bob” Pardo was born in Havana , Cuba and came to Miami at the age of four. Raised in Miami he attended Christopher Columbus High School, Miami-Dade Community College(AA), Florida International University(BBA) and received his Law Degree from the University Of Miami. Bob began his legal career in the Miami Dade State Attorney’s Office, beginning his career in County Court and ending his tenure as a seasoned narcotics prosecutor. In private practice since 1981, Bob has made his career focus Criminal Defense. He was featured on Court TV for his defense in “The Scott Market Murder” and has handled numerous high profile cases. Bob is active in Bar activities having served as a Director of the Cuban American Bar Association and is currently serving as a Director of the Florida Bar Foundation, he is also a member of the Dade County Bar Association, the League of Prosecutors the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Attorney and of course the Miami chapter of FACDL where he currently serves on the Executive Board as Treasurer. Bob has received numerous awards from the Florida Bar and has been named to Florida’s Legal Elite. Bob participates in varied Pro-Bono projects and it is emphasized in his practice.
Secretary, Eduardo "Eddie" Pereira joined FACDL and the Miami Dade Public Defender's Office in 2005. Beginning his service with FACDL as a Young Lawyer Board of Directors member in 2009, Eddie now serves as the elected secretary on the Executive Board. Eddie grew up on Key Biscayne and attended Coral Gables Senior High School, thereafter graduating from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University and the University of Miami School of Law. Currently, he continues to defend individuals as an Assistant Public Defender, handling cases ranging from complex financial schemes to large scale drug trafficking cases to homicides and other violent crimes.Board of Directors
